2019 Women’s Conference

Saturday, April 27 | 9a- 2p

Park Hill Baptist Church, 7609 NW. Highway 9 Kansas City, MO

You’re invited!

What happens in your heart when you hear that God bends down to listen to you?
Hope? Or maybe disbelief.
God, in his perfect word, paints this picture for us.
Psalm 116:1-2 (NLT)
I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy.
Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!
Another translation substitutes “inclined his ear.” Yet another uses the phrase “has turned his ear.”
The truth is the same. God takes care to listen to us when we pray.
Sister with the tired soul—let this truth sink in.
Friends who are uncomfortable or unsure about talking to God—dare to believe that God means what He says here!
Or maybe you are one who has thought of God only as a fairy tale and never as a perfect Heavenly Father? Please—ponder this truth.
No matter how you feel about prayer, please join us Saturday, April 27, 2019 to study this astounding truth at the 2019 Women’s Conference. It is our aim—and our prayer—that you will be lavished with fellowship, encouragement and laughter as we center your hearts on the One who longs for you by studying how His word answers the question “What Happens When I Pray?”
So, as our 2019 speaker has been known to say,
“Come as you are and find Him to be more than you need!”

In addition to the amazing day of worship and teaching, your registration includes:
  • a continental breakfast
  • lunch from Panera Bread
  • materials to help you begin individual “prayer projects” to encourage a deeper and more intimate prayer life.
(Prayer Warrior Tip: Bring a group of women from your local church and brainstorm ways to use these projects to “raise prayer” for ministries and people within your body. It’s a surefire way to be a blessing to your church family!)
Regular registration (January 23-March 21): $30
Late Registration (March 22-5 p.m. April 24): $40
MBTS *student/wife registration: $15

Leading us that day …

Kris Goertzen, Speaker

God has given Kris a passion to motivate women to live near His heart. Her gift of exhortation delights women both in this country and in other parts of the world. Her love for women is evident as she teaches the truth of God’s Word clearly, passionately, and with the color and enthusiasm only Kris can bring.
Her constant desire is to equip women to know God intimately and to live joyous, purposeful lives in the light of Scripture. Her three children and their spouses are the joy of her life. To her great delight, they each love the Lord and faithfully serve Him. But her new grandson has truly stolen her heart!
Besides serving her family, she’s obsessed with equipping the next generation of Titus Two women women by speaking at retreats and conferences as well as her growing online ministry. Yet, Kris’ favorite ministry is serving beside her husband, Dr. Rick Goertzen, who is Lead Pastor at Shades Mountain Community Church in Hoover, AL.

Angela Swain, Vocalist

Angela C. Swain serves as Assistant Professor of Music in the Department of Worship Ministries at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She comes to the classroom with nearly 25 years of ministry experience in the local church—many of which include serving alongside her husband, Dr. Matthew Swain, in his role as worship pastor.
It is her passion to assist those called to serve the church through singing, teaching, and preaching to steward this tool in healthful ways that transcend musical styles or vocal demands. Outside the voice studio, Angela can be found coaching chapel band and special event worship teams, and directing “Voices of Midwestern,” along with a list of other responsibilities and ministries.
Above all, Angela delights in her role as wife to Dr. Swain and mother to two young children. Together, they enjoy season passes to the KC Zoo, Science City, The KC Symphony, the Gladstone Community Center and much more. They also enjoy day trips to cozy, small towns for local grub along with frequent visits to Trader Joe’s or IKEA.
