WELCOME TO THE FAMILY

Park Hill Baptist Church exists to pursue worship of Jesus Christ as Lord through our weekly gatherings and daily lives. We are also actively pursuing evangelism opportunities in our local community and neighborhood, encouragement & discipleship of the saints and service to all, in the name and for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

What is the Gospel?*

*Gospel means Good News

It’s important to know why it’s good news. Before we can truly know what the good news is we must know what the bad news is. You would not appreciate a stranger bursting into your home and dragging you outside in the middle of the night unless you understood that your house was on fire and they were saving your life.

The Bad News

The Bad News is that God is good and we are not (Luke 18:19). Because God is good He must punish what is evil. He must punish sin. To sin means to miss the mark, which is God’s perfect standard. The Bible tells us that we have all missed the mark of God’s standard (Romans 3:23). We have all told lies, have taken or have wanted to take what is not ours, and we’ve used God’s name as a curse word either with our words or thought it in our heads. And that’s just 3 of the 10 commandments God has given us to obey! What we receive for missing the mark is death. But not just physical death-we all die-but we also receive spiritual death which is the wrath of God in Hell for all of eternity (2 Thessalonians 8-9).

The Good News

Jesus came to live the perfect life that we could never live. He never missed God’s mark by sinning, not once! And what did Jesus do after living this perfect life? He died in the place of sinners. He took the punishment that you and I should have received. God takes our sin and puts it on Jesus at the cross. And in response, God takes Jesus’ perfect life and credits it to us! That is the great exchange between sinners and the Savior (2 Corinthians 5:21).

Now What?

In the Bible, people ask a lot of questions, but one of the most important questions was, “What must I do to be saved?” (Acts 16:30). The response was this, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.” (Acts 16:31).But what does it mean to believe in Jesus? True belief in Christ is acted out in two ways: Trust and Repentance. To trust Jesus means that he calls the shots with your life. You no longer put yourself or anyone else at the center of your life. You now put Jesus at the center of your life. Repentance means to do a full u-turn. Before Jesus, you were going your own way and living how you thought was best. Now because of what Jesus has done for you on the cross, you turn away from what you thought was best for your life and you now turn to how Jesus wants you to live every day. Both trust and repentance is something that a follower of Jesus does every day!

Secure Online Giving

Thank you so much for considering giving a Gift to Park Hill Baptist Church!

What an exciting thing it is to be a part of the local Body of Christ!  What a blessing it is to have a place to serve together, grow together, give together and encourage one another with the Word of God.  Thank you for taking time to financially be dedicated to the local Body of Christ as well.  I want to first encourage you that God will use your gift for His Glory and take a moment to remind you that before we dedicate what we have been given to the Lord, we must first dedicate our lives to the Lord. (Romans 10:9-10)

We are called to submit ourselves & all of our lives, to the Person and Work of Jesus Christ and what He has done on the cross (2 Cor. 5:21; John 3:16; Romans 5:8), before we commit to financially serving.  If you still have questions about who Jesus is or what He has done for you, please let us know by calling the office.  We would love to take time to meet with you, pray for you and encourage you to Know the Lord and to Grow in the Grace and Knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!  (Phil 3:7-16; 2 Peter 4:18).

Here are some scriptural insights on giving from the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.

XIII. Stewardship

God is the source of all blessings, temporal and spiritual; all that we have and are we owe to Him. Christians have a spiritual debtorship to the whole world, a holy trusteeship in the gospel, and a binding stewardship in their possessions. They are therefore under obligation to serve Him with their time, talents, and material possessions; and should recognize all these as entrusted to them to use for the glory of God and for helping others. According to the Scriptures, Christians should contribute of their means cheerfully, regularly, systematically, proportionately, and liberally for the advancement of the Redeemer’s cause on earth.

Thank you so much for giving with a cheerful heart and partnering with us to serve the Lord with the time He has given us, here on earth!  We hope you are blessed by this fellowship of believers!

In God’s Grace,
– Pastor Seth
